Facebook, Google, Yahoo, YouTube - These, I think, are the some of the most common sites visited by our generation, or at least my immediate community. It cannot be denied that socialization is now done not only in the personal level but also and more often done over the web. School researches, assignments, and the like are being sought for in the internet. Entertainment has also been among the reasons why people choose to have an internet connection at home.

Apple Announces New Mac Pro With up to 12 Cores - PCWorld
I remember myself letting out a childish grin (I was young back then, anyway) and a long "wow" when I found out that I was going to have a new desktop. While that alone could make computer-addict kid smile from ear to ear already, what made me drool (not literally, of course) were the specs of the unit. Being the curious child I was, I asked knowledgeable people about the specs and found out that the processor, an Intel Pentium 4, was then a gem in the commercial computing world.

Above is one of the entries on my enrollment form, or white form in CdD-speak. Most would rather refer to it as “OJT” though, which is just about the same thing. This program helps prepare students like me for the real world. It would help us feel what it is like to be working already. Some students went to government offices. Some went to private companies. I stayed in school and applied for OJT in my department’s faculty room. Some don’t like the idea of it, but I’m not one of them.

[old.wp] It's been a long time...

It’s been a long time since my last post (about a month, more or less).
A lot of things have happened. Some of made me smile, and some put me down.
In my last post I shared some pleasant experiences. One of them is I got to drive our threesome family home. Since then, I have been driving at least twice a week. I say I’m loving it. Do you remember when you were still young, and your mom or dad promised to give you something you really, really like, like your favorite candy or snack? When they are about to give it to you, excitement fills you up. You feel like jumping up and down for joy. It’ as if

Pilipinas Got Talent: A reality talent show that had the country waiting to have a dose of every episode.
MEDIA HYPE
Facebook Fan Pages of the contestants abound. ABS-CBN states, “PGT was the most talked-about topic on Twitter during the start of the show’s final results night on Sunday.” Bloggers too, have been following the hype. PGT is probably one of the most watched shows in these islands.

It was quite a small room, about the size of a usual college classroom. There I found myself in front of people, eyes closed, lips forming smiles, seemingly stricken with peace and serenity. I heard the strings of my guitar resonate in the silence-filled air. I asked myself, “Is it my guitar that’s made them so quiet?” For a moment I thought I was alone. I was wrong. I heard a voice –a very sweet one, sing a melody in accord with the chords I was playing on my guitar. I looked to my right, and there she was, clothed with a crimson dress. Adorned with a silver lace on her neck and an elegant ring on her left hand; what a beauty to behold.

[old.wp] Election = Action?

commentarium – 02.07.10
National elections are approaching again. Different channels have allotted a segment especially for the election in their own news programs. Numerous political commercials flood the air waves and even the internet, each bearing a particular politician’s tag line and platform. Controversies arise, praises publicized, conflicts developed and alliances formed—these things no longer surprise the people.

The day started after a rather long and much-needed sleep. The time for service approached quite quickly, and as it did I couldn’t help but think of the things yet to be done before the service starts. The musical pieces for today’s line-up of songs have not been transferred and rewritten yet. Presentations were yet to be prepared. Since my laptop has just been reformatted, it still lacked some hardware drivers which were essential for a fully functional and stable computer system. The rest is history.

It was the nth day of September 2005. The thought of turning 15 greeted me as I woke up. “Today you’re a year older than you were yesterday,” I said to myself. I went on with my daily routine and prepped for school. At the table, our threesome family gathered for breakfast with much smiles and laughter. I was happy, just as my parents were. Then, my father and mother paused gulping down food and looked at each other with a grin. I knew they were up to something, but I had no idea what they had in mind.

[old.fs] Conscience = Standard?
[OLD POST] Date: 10.12.2008 | Navigate to the original post here.
Conscience.
A seemingly simple word–but one so complicated. ‘A complicated simple’ seems a fitting description to such word.
An online dictionary defines it this way:
1. | the inner sense of what is right or wrong in one’s conduct or motives, impelling one toward right action: to follow the dictates of conscience. |
2. | the complex of ethical and moral principles that controls or inhibits the actions or thoughts of an individual. |
Conscience, then, is the inner sense of each person that tells him what is right and what is wrong. Or is it?

[old.fs] Excellence vs Perfection
We have all been into school life long enough to know that group works are common in the student life. In a group, a leader is assigned and members are given tasks—each task contributing to the end product, say, a group report. When the time of passing the report draws near, some members naturally come together and examine their work. They look for things that could be improved and do try to improve them. Such people are, more often than not, labeled ‘perfectionists.’ And I am one of them. I usually try to improve on things, especially those on which I know I am capable to improve. For this reason, I’ve been often accused of being a perfectionist.

Lately, the Baguio City police has been assigning their officers on foot patrols. I believe the very obvious reason for this is the ever continuing rise in the prices of petrol products.
This move, for me, is really a good one.

I eat in a popular fast food chain resto almost every school day–it’s that one featuring a bee that seems to have enjoyed swimming in catsup and decided to setup a resto. Of course, today’s a school day, and yes, i did eat there a while about 45 minutes ago–yeah, i have my lunch late(2pm or 2:30); poor, hungry me.
